It probably would, as long as you get some vegetables in with it, and maybe heat up the pet food so you don't get any bacteria in you. Cat and dog food is meant for carnivorous creatures. So its very high in Iron and B12, just make sure you get your other food groups in wwith it, too

what do tax payer subsidies given to health insurance companies pay for?

what do tax payer subsidies given to health insurance companies pay for?
President Obama has mentioned in several of his speeches that health insurance companies receive BILLIONS of dollars in tax payer subsidies. What exactly do these subsidies pay for and through what method? (I know through subsidies, but are they direct or are they given in a quarterly or yearly basis?). Please give examples and/or provide links to available documented information.

The only health insurance programs that currently receive billions in taxpayer subsidies, are Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Supplemental programs, and SCHIP - state children's health insurance programs. Welfare based health insurance, run by state and federal governments. Our EXISTING government run health insurance programs.
2 :
seems to be like they will raise your taxes, use it to put in a government runned pool. Force everyone to get health insurance for cheaper rate, when it's time to pay the claims, money come from the pool or when claim is over certain limit. Anyway, it's bad news, it's not reform or helping, in fact it will raise taxes, and force people to pay

I'm moving to Columbus Ohio. Can anyone tell me about the city?

I'm moving to Columbus Ohio. Can anyone tell me about the city?
I have kids, ages 2 1/2 and 8 weeks, so I need to know about children's activities. I also don't have a place to live yet, we're staying with family until we find a place, so I need to know what are good neighborhoods with relatively cheap places to rent. Anyone who knows of any job openings could let me know. I have a B.S. in psychology and my boyfriend only has a high school diploma. If any of you have kids, please let me know what the school systems are like and where some good preschools/day care centers are located so I can check them out. We are moving from a small town in Kentucky that has no opportunities for either of us and terrible school systems. I'm very stressed, so please help!

i've been there couple of times and its a great city! i think you will like it!

COSI and the Columbus Zoo are both fabulous family places to go any time of year. The French market is great too. My sister and her family lived in Columbus for a few years and loved it. If you're not already, get ready to be a Buckeyes fan, they live and breathe it there. The Ohio State University is affiliated with one of the hospital systems there so it's a teaching hospital, if you are looking to go further with your degree, consider applying there. I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you about housing, it's such a different city. Very expensive houses surrounded by college students. Look around and see where you feel comfortable. There are so many options. It's big and loud, but very friendly.

The Dublin ( north side) and Easton ( East of course) suburbs are superb as far as amenities and the people who live in the area. If you like historic, try Germantown, an area just south of the city center that has many beautifully restored old buildings and a well kept neighborhood. All of the above are the stand outs, but as far as cheap goes, it's pretty much scatter shot all across the city, and like any city Columbus does have it's seedy areas. Don't worry, the decent ones aren't hard to find. When you move there, try a couple of places on Vine St. just North of the City's center...The North Market, which is a great place to pick up things like gourmet cheeses, bread and other great food...and This Thai reaturant on the same street called Thai-Phoon, it's nice inside and the food is above average.

my wife and i lived in columbus for a little over 5 yrs..couldnt wait to leave..very busy city..very overly populated unless you live on the outskirts..their are some nice (??) places..mostly appartments..all require refernces and a nifty security deposit..we lived off morris ave. not to far from rt 71...like i said..it can be a rough place to live...there is a day school/child preschool almost within walking distance from those apartments...also up morris ave. are various grocery stores and a wall-mart...tons of restaraunts..pro hockey...osu sports..which pretty much owns that city...oberlin college...catholic schools not to far from were we lived..also some storage buildings...i think (???) they were the ''carlton apts'''...good luck...i can think of better cities to live in...rt 271 goes totaly around the outskirts of the city...lots of buisnesses..just take your time and shop around ...NOT downtown...enjoy...beam me up buckeyes

I live just outside of Columbus. I don't suggest moving actually into Columbus. It is very busy with the airport, OSU, theaters, COSI, the Blue Jackets (Hockey), the Clippers (baseball) and everything else downtown. I moved here from a small town and love it!! Being in the suburbs puts you close to many activities but far enough away to avoid the major conjestions of the city. Some of the better school districts are Dublin, Powell, New Albany, Pickerington, but you'll pay higher living costs in these areas. If you have children though, it's worth it for their education. Some other areas are Reynoldsburg, , Lancaster, Pataskala, Grove City, Canal Winchester. There are many daycare centers Rainbow Station is the only on I can think of off the top of my head. The YMCA also offers child care and I know they have a scholarship program for families with lower income. There are jobs everywhere, but it may take a little bit to find something in your field. You can always find something in the meantime. There are retail stores adn malls everywhere, along with many distribution centers (GAP, Limited, Too Inc, Victoria's Secret, Eddie Bauer, etc.). As I said, I love living here, there are so many opportunities for my daughter here that there wouldn't be in a smaller town. But the suburbs are the way to go. I read the previous replies, outerbelt Route 270 runs all the way around Columbus, it makes for easier commute to wherever, but I would suggest living outside of the outerbelt, versus inside. Check out the foolowing link for apartments; http://www.forrent.com/ . I think it'll also give you a link to check out he school systems. Good Luck and I do hope you're ready to be a Buckeye Fan, it comes with teh territory.

i need health insurance for child in north carolina?
she has adhd, but we make too much to qualify for her to get disability. her indepentent policy keeps getting higher with less benefits( bcbs blue advantage) we also make too much for health choice any help?-just barely

If it really is "just barely", you might want to talk to an accountant to find deductions. The accountant's fee would count for one. With enough deductions, you might be able to lower your income and get her into health choice. Your other good option is to find employment with a company that will put her on a group. Good luck.
2 :
With a diagnosis of ADHD, you're not going to get an individual company to take her on, and cover any mental health issues - which is what ADHD is classified as. So you're stuck with the current plan, unless you switch jobs and your new employer gives it to you.

"All businesses want to make money. Whether one person owns them or a whole lot of people share the ownership, they want to make money, otherwise why own the business? "Most businesses make enough money to keep the owners happy, but when one doesn't, they sometimes save money by doing things that make working there not as safe as it should be. This law says they can't do that any more."
2 :
It's the law that tells bosses how to keep their staff safe and healthy at work. Then I'd explain it 'in context'. Choose a job that the child is fairly familiar with, and explain how the Health and Safety Act applies to that job. For example - Lollipop Lady has the colourful outfit and big lollipop to make sure that people can see her easily in the road. - Similar for rubbish collectors - Hairdresser has to be trained properly to use the various chemicals, scissors etc to keep herself safe Use your own job if your child's familiar with that too (or are you the teacher? - if so, use that) I think children understand things like this better when they're applied to something that's real for them.

Basically, it ensures that people can work in a safe environment. The act means that employers have to make sure they take steps that the workplace is safe and accidents are avoided where possible. I also means employees have to look out for one another and make sure they try and reduce accidents. You could point out that before that legalisation came into place, there things like mills which had a a lot of exposed moving parts, dust everywhere (which choked the employees and gathered in their lungs) and noise (which left them deaf). The places where hell, and there were a lot of accidents and people left crippled or dead due to accidents that could have been avoided

Is it legal for one parent to change a child's name on their Health Card without the other parent's consent.?

Is it legal for one parent to change a child's name on their Health Card without the other parent's consent.?
The parent's have joint custody and the child lives with the father in Quebec. The name that she was given at birth and what she was christened as but after the separation, without any consent whatsoever, the child came for her visit and the health card read a different name. He placed his last name in it. I.E. Her name is Ann May Hope and it now reads Ann May Ritney Hope. Could anyone give me any ideas on finding out if this is legal or fraud?

Did she ever have a card in the other name? Provincial Health Departments sometimes have unusual naming procedures. It's usually not possible (or very difficult) to CHANGE the name, and they may require both names in order to allow both parents to deal with the child's medical needs. Quebec specifically has different rules regarding the mother's name, so perhaps this is some offshoot of those policies. I'm in BC, and we've essentially given up on trying to convince the BC Medical that my son has NEVER gone by his mother's maiden name (nor does she, and yes, we were married and she was using her married name long before he was born). But that's the way they have it on file, and we cannot seem to change it. Bureaucracies, don't you love them?

There is a new treatment for cancer (especially breast) dealing with lasers. Do a search and you can find it. I had oral cancer and didn't find about this until I had already gone through the tradition chemo/radiation. Believe me I wish I had known I would have tried it first. Assuming you have or know some one with cancer Good luck and I do wish you them the very best.

i have breast cancer two...calcifications are deposits of calcium usually not cancerous.but where you have breast cancer two they will treat you with...Mastectomy: Surgery to remove all or part of the breast and sometimes other tissue.Chemotherapy: Treatment with drugs to destroy cancer cells. Often used in addition to surgery or radiation f the cancer has spread, has come back (recurred), or when there is a strong chance it will recur. Radiation Therapy: Treatment with high-energy rays (such as x-rays) to eliminate or shrink cancer cells before or after surgery, or in some cases as the main treatment. that is the usual treatment...good luck to you....ive been going through treatment for a year now... found out april2005 i ahd cancer....if you wont to talk e- mail me ....

What do you think illegals students deliver coffins to Sen. Corker's office demanding free college?

What do you think illegals students deliver coffins to Sen. Corker's office demanding free college?
NASHVILLE, Tenn. รข€“ Around 40 students, teachers and other supporters of the Dream Act carried two coffins from Vanderbilt University to Senator Bob Corker's office on West End Avenue Wednesday. The goal was to encourage the Tennessee senator to help push along a bill in Congress aimed at helping immigrant students gain entry into college or find work. Group spokesperson Arely Bravo told News 2, "We want them to support our dreams. We want him to support the Dream Act to help us further our education." The students had two full-size coffins filled with diplomas, awards and college acceptance letters. "The coffin represents the fact that after high school, many immigrant students find that their dreams die," said volunteer and Davidson County school teacher Molly Sehring. "In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, sometimes it's very important to dramatize an issue, and that is what we're doing today, we're dramatizing the fact these kids dreams are dying after high school graduation." The students marched just over a mile on West End Avenue to reach the senator's office. While he was not in Nashville on Wednesday, two of his staff members met with the group, listened to their concerns and accepted dozens of letters from students. In a statement concerning the Dream Act, the senator's staff, "Senator Corker understands the importance of higher education but has concerns about the details of this legislation and its potential effect of encouraging illegal immigration." http://www.wkrn.com/global/story.asp?s=12886551

I think they need to stop demanding everything for free here and go back to Mexico and demand free things there! Their sense of entitlement seem to know no ends! Next they will be demanding free, government-paid gold watches and diamond jewelry for illegal men and women! Coffins? Give me a break! They sure love to play the martyr role don't they?
2 :
If the "students" are indeed illegals, they should have been detained for ICE, and deported. Regardless of bleeding heart liberal opinion, illegal aliens should have absolutely no rights in this country, certainly not free education, or anything else. They should be actively pursued, confined in a tent type jail, then deported. Second offense, 2 years confinement at hard labor, doubled for every repeat offense. Same for those who hire or transport illegals. We must stop the invasion from the south, or perish as a nation.

wouldn't it be nice if our so called representative of American citizens were as concerned about our children being able to afford college as well as find a job.
4 :
They are becoming more embolden with their protests and actions that are not cutting it with the American people. I believe it's time to have our rights looked into, instead of a bunch of illegals. They have no rights here in America. We didn't ask them to come here, but we sure the hell want them to leave. It's time to start throwing tomatoes at them.
5 :
This goes to far here I am paying $197 in loans monthly and I have yet to ask when is someone else gonna pay it back for me. I am sick and tired of all the bs! When was the last time American citizens marched on a Senator and demanded free college. What the fuck? I'm just too through and I am beginning to fester

Is there a Columbus Ohio high school basketball coach that would like to help start a local AAU team?

I am trying to put together a 17u aau basketball team in columbus ohio. I have everything figured out, I just need a coach that could handle a schedule like this: Real Deal On The Hill-Fayetteville, Arkansas (April 6-8) Houston Kingwood Classic-Houston, Texas (April 18-20) King James Shooting Stars Classic-Akron, Ohio (April 27-29) Wallace Prather Memorial- Atlanta, Georgia (May 4-6) Nike Memorial Day Classic- Nashville, Tennessee (May 26-28) Adidas It Takes 5ive Classic-Cincinnati, Ohio (July 5-8) Elite Shootout- Bloomington, Indiana (July 9-11) Triple "S" Harley Davidson Jam Fest- Morgantown, West Virginia (July 14-16) The Main Event-$575 Las Vegas, Nevada (July 22-26) National Powerhouse Tour-Cleveland, Ohio (July 28-29) any takers? I like the name "Ohio Nightmare" for a team name. these are the top tournaments around the country so there would have to be a serious coach. Maybe a JV coach, or assistant, or freshman coach or something. players grades 9, 10 , and 11.

You should check with local house leagues (non competitive teams), theres always coaches that volunteer but then there are those who want to do more than just volunteering. Just check local leagues and maybe check local high schools also. Good luck!
